Its been a while..................

Well where do I begin, it has been a long time since my last post, so much for good intentions, but all sorts have happened since my last post. We have had problems with our internet for some time over the summer, hopefully sorted  now. The summer was great, what wonderful weather, a bit too hot for me at times, but we all had a good time. No holiday unfortunately, aside from time visiting family in devon/cornwall, we have not been able to afford anything this year - gutted and re-did the bathroom - it was falling apart, we have also decorated our bedroom and beloved built new wardrobes - we have been on a mission to create more storage, we have done so but it is still limited.

We are still paying off debt and are usually brassic a lot of the time at the moment, we have to budget for everything and save for it. Not helped by me having a car accident - the car is currently being repaired but we have £350 excess to pay - not budgeted for - ouch! this has stuffed us up at the moment, thankfully no one was hurt. I am still working for the Probation Service, following the split and the ongoing privatisation, the job has stayed the same, nothing has changed at the  moment for staff on a day to day basis. We should know at the end of the month what company has one the bid and takes us over, I think then we will start to see changes, dont know what I will do if I am made redundant.

So at the moment we just carry on because that is all we can do, all that anyone can do. Cant believe the clocks go back this weekend, I have some time off over half term and will be glad of the break. I need to find the camera to liven up the blog with some photos, it been put away somewhere but I cant remember where! Dont even what to mention the looming C word!

yesterday was a sad day..........

.....for those of us who work in the Probation service, it was the last day of the Probation service as it was. As of Monday, it will be split, there will be a small 'public sector' bit which comes under the civil service and the rest , the majority, is being privatised. I am in the private bit, didnt really have much choice in the matter, would of rather the service stayed as it was, but I guess the government thinks it can save money. We wont know who is going to be our new boss until around October. I know change can be good, but this seems change for change sake. This has made me think alot about the future and what I want to do, I have some ideas about re-training, but every course I look at seems expensive, I cant afford to go back to full time education unfortunately, but I am looking at what I can do in terms of distant/online training or qualifications. Who knows, this may prompt a career change and new opportunities, trying to stay positive!

Glastonbury

So, during the Easter break we had a short break to Glastonbury. This was a bit of a pilgrimage for me. I had wanted to visit for a long time. The photo is at the tower as t the top of the for, I have fallen in love with the place. We had a great time and calso visited the abbey, chalice well gardens ,and the goddess temple. Definitely reaffirmed my path. We looked for king Arthur's grave in the abbey and meditated in chalice well and drank the water. I will

leave you with more photos.

This is the start of my new blog The title is reference to the meaning of tarka, a definition for an otter so I was once told. Tarka can also mean the wandering of water. Otters have a special meaning to me and tarka describes them perfectly to me I will be blogging about family, nature and spirit .
